The yard had a fantastic days racing on Wednesday as we enjoyed an across the card and code double.
We had two runners at Lingfield - Powered was having his first run on the turf for us and finished a very good 3rd under Sean Levey. He had a bit of trouble in running in the last two furlongs but finished very strongly when in the clear and looked the one to take out of the race. Next up was the yard stalwart Black Dave, settled just off the pace in fourth he traveled strongly into the race to take up the running about three furlongs out. He galloped gamely all the way to the line to just hold off a late challenge to win by a neck under our apprentice Kathy Glenister. Great result!
Meanwhile at Southwell John Reel was making his chasing debut under Robbie Dunne. He had shown great technique schooling at home and looked every bit a natural chaser. He had strong market support throughout the day and it was justified as he romped home to win by 6 lengths going away. He made most of the running and easily shrugged off his two challengers with a good round of jumping. We should have plenty of fun with him!
