The yard had a fantastic days racing on Friday with two of our highest rated horses both winning good quality sprint races at Bath & Newbury.
At Newbury we had top quality sprinter Gracious John running in the class 2 Dubai Duty Free handicap under Fran Berry. He has been in fantastic form at home but we were slightly worried about the ground being too soft for him however he handled it really well and came home strongly to win by a cosy half length. He has now won an impressive 12 races for us and owner Terry Reffell with hopefully many more to come!
Meanwhile at Bath the Shropshire Wolves owned Dougan won by 3.5 lengths eased down under the excellent handling of Silvestre De Sousa. After a frustrating season last year where nothing went his way it was great to see this talented sprinter back to his best. We should have lots of fun with him on the turf through the summer.
It was great to get our first two year old winner of the season at Kempton this afternoon. Fran Berry kept Lihou handy throughout and launched a strong challenge inside the final furlong to get up near the line. It was a great result for long standing owner Trevor Gallienne. Our other runner in the race, Disruptor, was having his first run and ran very respectably to finish an eye catching 5th.
We are very excited to announce the launch of the David Evans Racing Club. This is a new venture for us that we hope will be great fun for our members. The idea is to allow people to be involved with multiple racehorses and experience what it is like to be an owner at just a fraction of the usual cost. At the moment we have four horses in our club;
