The yard is in fine form at the moment and our horses are producing some fantastic results.
At Haydock on Saturday Buying Trouble sprung a surprise in the Listed EBF Stallions Cecil Frail Stakes to run out a fantastic winner at 14/1 under Andrew Mullen. She ran some good races for us last season so it was really great to see her return to her best form. Hopefully there will be more to come from her this summer!
This was followed up by Smokey Lane relishing the soft ground to land the feature race at Leicester at 12/1 on Monday under Fran Berry. He was one of our best two year olds last year and looks to have come back even better as a three year old and should have a bright future. Meanwhile at Windsor the Shropshire Wolves owned Bahamian Dollar ran a blinder in the sprint to come 2nd at 20/1 under apprentice Kathy Glenister. After his good second at Newcastle in February he became quite ill and had a few months out so it was great to see him return to form.
Then as if the week couldn't get any better our yard favourite Athassel went to Kempton on Wednesday evening to contest a 7 furlong handicap. Having come to Dave's with a mark of 36 we thought his winning spree must surely have come to an end now running off 78 but he proved everyone wrong and ran really well under regular pilot Kathy Glenister to storm home in front by 1 1/2 lengths at odds of 12/1 ! What a wonderful little horse and what a fantastic training performance from Dave. This brought his total up to 8 wins since Dec 2016.
